Lisa Jilg was born in Munich. She gained her first experience in film during an internship at the HFF Munich where she got in touch with analog photography and started to shoot and develop her own photo series.
After graduating from high school, she decided to study photography but soon realized that the stories she could tell through light and atmosphere touched her so deeply that she missed the spoken word and movement- so she began shooting her first short films while working as a camera assistant for television productions.
In 2018 Lisa enrolled for at the renowned Filmakadmie in Baden-Württemberg for cinematography and graduated in 2024 with the feature film VENA and the commercial short TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT.
The photographic eye and the art of bringing stories to life through a single picture still influence her work today.
Her last short film DIGNITY KEEPER was nominated for the German Short Film Award and can currently be seen in the Arte Mediathek alongside with her short film VIKA. In 2023, as part of the ZDF Kleines Fernsehspiel, she accompanied four aspiring police officers from the Berlin Police Academy for a year. The documentary Portrait about the designer William Fan was part of the opening of the Berlin Fashion Week and is now available in the ARD Mediathek. The feature film VENA will be released in cinemas end of 2024 by distribution of Picture Tree and Weltkino.
