Lisa Jilg was born in Munich and gained her first film experience during an internship at the HFF Munich. There she came into contact with analog photography and began to photograph and develop her own photo series.
After graduating from high school, she decided to study photography, but soon realized that she missed the spoken word and movement - so she started making her first short films while working as a camera assistant for television productions.
In September 2018, Lisa began her studies in Image Design/Cinematography at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and graduated in 2024 with the feature film VENA and the commercial short TELL Me What You Want. At the First Steps Awards she won the Michael Ballhaus Camera Prize 24 and the Justus Pankau Camera Prize for her first feature VENA.
With the Short Film TITANNINEN she won the Bronze Tadpole at the Camerimage 24. At the “Young Cinematography”- Awards of Kodak and Silbersalz, Lisa won the main prize and is currently nominated at the German Filmaward „LOLA“ for VENA, which is in theaters all over Germany at the moment.
Lisa is currently based in Berlin. The photographic view still influences her work today.
