Daria knew early on that she wanted a career in the visual arts. Even as a child she painted and took up fine art. As a teenager, she spent a lot of time on film sets and then knew at the age of 14 that she wanted to be a Director of Photography. She began taking photographs and at 16 became a member of the Photography Department at Minor Academy of Sciences in Crimea, Ukraine, before graduating to study cinematography and the VGiK under Mikhail Agranovich. Her graduation film received the Vadim Yusov special prize of the Russian Guild of Cinematographers for Best Cinematography.
Daria's work is characterized by a kind of out of this world elegance and lightness. She is naturally always a little ahead of the Zeitgeist and develops an individual visual language for each project, within her special spirit.
The most important thing for her is the opportunity to speak and express herself openly and freely, and to have the ability to create at a high quality and aesthetic level, what led her to work also as a Dir/DoP. She lives between Berlin and Paris, and works both in Europe and worldwide.
