Fred Midgley is a freelance filmmaker from Brooklyn, currently based in Berlin. He began his filmmaking career at a young age and quickly developed a distinct, story-driven approach to visual storytelling.
While studying film at SUNY Purchase College, Fred directed and shot his first major campaign for Macy’s. The campaign was featured in Times Square and displayed in stores nationwide.
In addition to his fashion and commercial work, Fred has directed and shot numerous dance films. What began as collaborations with fellow students evolved into projects with renowned companies such as the Martha Graham Dance Company. Across genres, Fred brings a cinematic, narrative-focused sensibility to every project he undertakes.
