Hanna Mathis, originally from Vorarlberg in Austria, lives and works as a director in Vienna.
After studying journalism and digital media, she learned her love for film after working on her own short film projects and working as an intern for film productions.
While working at an Austrian advertising film production company, she immersed herself in the world of advertising - directing a wide variety of advertising films for clients such as Billa, ÖBB, and the city of Vienna.
Her short documentary “Wheels of Madness” about Gal, a music loving man from Israel, touring various music festivals around the globe in his wheelchair, won a Golden Dolphin award at the Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards 2020.
Hanna's compassionate work ranges from commercial work to portraits, documentaries and series, with a focus on projects that are inclusive, diverse, warm and authentic. She prefers a documentary approach and to work with female protagonists, the queer community, the elderly, children and people with disabilities.
