Hometown is a filmmaking duo consisting of director Jan Eric Hühn, cinematographer Alex Schuchmann. They are connected by their origin, friendship, and shared passion for visual arts.
Their journey started in a small German village nobody had ever heard of, close to the Dutch border in the 2010s. Nowadays, they are based between Portugal and Berlin.
After gaining attention at international film festivals and three Vimeo Staff Picks (2017, 2019 & 2022), they started to work within the commercial film industry. By now their CV includes a wide range of brands, from cars to beauty. Creating films for clients such as Mercedes-Benz, VW, Flaconi, Miele, or Telekom.
Their style is human-centred, capturing authentic human beauty. Hometown started as friends but has become much more than that. The Duo aims to connect our society through the power of storytelling.
