Christian Bjørn Bagger began his movie career as a runner on various film productions. He moved on to production assistant, which he was pretty terrible at. That led him to editing, where he served as in-house editor at one of Northern Europe’s largest advertising agencies. Determined to get behind the camera, Christian succeeded and shot countless projects for the agency. He has since directed commercials around the world for numerous international companies. With each project, Christian injects his unique brand of humor and style into his work. He is also known for his ability to make scripted situations with actors appear real, improvised and unscripted in a way that always strikes an emotional core with the target audience.
Christian’s exploration into narrative storytelling led him to America—specifically the prestigious American Film Institute in Los Angeles, California, where Christian earned his degree in film directing. His work reflects his appreciation for both classical, Hollywood narrative as well as his flare for the stylistics of contemporary European cinema, which can be seen in his award-winning films “15-40” & “Gnist”, starring Danica Curcic (Shooting Star 2014, Berlin Int. Film Festival).
After four years in Los Angeles, Christian returned to his native Copenhagen, where he now lives with his girlfriend, bonus daughter and their twins.
